Dear Erika, dear all,
Please see attached with a few general comments from my side. My biggest
concern is that it's not clear to me after reading through what are the
2-3 key findings from this review. There are a lot of numbers presented
but I wasn't sure I knew more at the end of the results section than I
knew at the end of the intro. My suggestion is to formulate these key
take away points, build hints to them in the introduction, highlight
each in the results (rather than describing teh results of the reviewed
studies) and pick them up in a future draft of the discussion.
I was also wondering if there is some sort of quality of evidence
ranking you can propose, depending on how strong the design of each
study is and how well adapted the analytical approach. You mention the
extremely wide estimate intervals in the studies you review - that
undermines the credibility of any conclusions you might draw in this
paper. But if not all studies included are created equal, it would be
useful to point to those estimates that are more reliable.
I hope this can be helpful and I look forward to discussing further,
Stefania
