[Futuregen] Review/scoping article to read through

Dear Erika et al,
Thank you very much for putting this together. It reads very well and I have added only a few comments along the text.
I think my main suggestion for improvement would be to in the discussion section. I think we might want to expand a bit more on the policy messages arising from our findings and I presented some suggestions for this.
I also think we could try to engage a bit more with existing literature. The study is novel and we don't have a direct comparison with previous similar reviews - and the likely other candidates to compare our findings with are studies that you anyway include in the review - but it would be nice to link this with existing theories on gender inequalities in health in old-age and see how they contribute or refute such theories. Perhaps similar reviews have been done for other age groups and we can compare with them. What I mean is we could strengthen our "contribution to knowledge" by referring to other literature.
Let me know if there is anything that is not clear in my comments and feel free to disregard my suggestions.
Happy to contribute further if needed.
IMPORTANT @All: I know it's tedious what I'm about to ask, but it seems that the FutureGEN mailing list has not been working properly (apologies in advance for this), therefore I would like to ask you all to reply to me just stating if you got this e-mail. Thanks!
Best wishes,
Ricardo

Hi Erika,
Great to see this paper emerging at last. I have only read the abstract and intro. I think that the message is hard to extract because of the language used. Your spoken English is flawless but the writing seems to use phrases that I suspect are perfect in Swedish but not so in English. I will attach the edits I have made so far.
Before I go on editing - I am wondering if there is someone at the Karolinska who reads manuscripts and edits for English usage. I know that at Umea University they had such people and the were extremely helpful. It might be worth taking this to them before I/we continue
editing.
As I write this I am thinking how totally incapable I am of writing in another language and am somewhat in awe of the abilities of everyone else in FUTUREGEN who can read, write and speak multiple languages!

Dear all,
Hope you’re doing well in the cold!
We have an updated version of the review/scoping article which is basically ready to send in. We just wanted to run it by you in case you spot any glaring issues, hopefully all looks good though! We are hoping to send it in to Ageing & Society very soon, so if you have time to read by next Friday that would be amazing.
Best wishes,
Erika
