Dear colleagues,
I hope this email finds you well and in good health!
I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the FutureGen
Data Navigator and to share our intended plans of a launch event for it.
We are in the midst of finalizing the Data Navigator and will have a
final version to circulate to you next week. We would then like to
organize a meeting with you all to present the Data Navigator, collect
your feedback, and plan the public launch event. As Sounding Board (SB)
members, we very much hope that you will be able to participate and help
with the public launch event.
The following is a summary of the next steps, as well as potential
contributions we would kindly ask of the SB members moving forward:
*Step 1* (early April) – FutureGen team meets with SB members to present
the navigator (2-2.5h closed virtual meeting), collect feedback and plan
the launch event together with SB members
*Step 2* (April/early May) - Both FutureGen team and SB members use
their networks to disseminate the event
*Step 3* (May) - Public launch (virtual) - 1.5/2 hours
Rough agenda of the public launch event (to be discussed):
1) FutureGen Team introduces the tool (25 min),
2) Short interventions from 2 SB members (10 min each, maybe one
focusing on relevance for policy makers another focused on relevance for
general public?/ journalists?)
3) Panel discussion (20 min) - Team and SB members address 1/2 prepared
questions (or we let the audience vote on which questions to address in
panel)
4) Open Q&A? (20/30 min)
As a first step, I am including a link to an anonymous poll to determine
possible dates for 1) a closed meeting to collect feedback and plan the
launch (April) and 2) the public launch event (May). I would kindly ask
you to fill out the poll by next Tuesday so that we may move ahead with
planning.
Please find the poll here:

We look forward to hearing from you. I remain at your disposal for any
questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Cassandra Simmons on behalf of the FutureGen team
